Régine Clément | Board Member

Régine Clément joined CREO in 2016 as its inaugural CEO to catalyze capital into Clean, Renewable and Environmental Opportunities. Through her leadership, CREO is helping build the climate & sustainability investment marketplace by partnering with family offices, family foundations and other asset owners to deploy capital into solutions that advance positive outcomes across all asset classes. Prior to joining CREO, Régine was Trade Commissioner and Head of Energy & Environment at the Canadian Consulate General in NYC; Co-Founder of the Canadian Technology Accelerator for Cleantech; Executive Director of SENS Production, a NYC-based site-specific dance company; Trade Policy Analyst with the Global Affairs Canada, and a trade & environmental policy analyst with Fundación Futuro Latino Americano in Ecuador. Régine obtained her MSc in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics and her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa.

Delphine Descamps | Board Member

Delphine is affiliated to Creadev, the $2bn evergreen investment firm of the French Mulliez family, founders of large retail businesses across the world. She has been working with the Mulliez family for the past 10 years. Creadev was created nearly 20 years ago in Paris, expanding to 3 other geographies (China, USA, and Africa). Delphine opened the New York office 5 years ago and structured long-term venture investments around food and agtech, with missions focused on producing sustainably and giving access to healthy food. Delphine is a board member of Gotham Greens, Hungry Harvest, Everytable and The Jackfruit Company. Prior to that, Delphine was an M&A / PE attorney in international law firms for 15 years, both in the US and France. She graduated from the Sorbonne in Paris and Columbia Law School.

Nick Eisenberger | Board Member

Building on over two decades as an investor and entrepreneur in clean technology, Nicholas Eisenberger is focused on scaling the circular carbon economy to address the urgent challenge of climate change. Nicholas is Managing Partner of Pure Energy Partners, a venture catalyst firm that invests in high-potential clean economy companies and partners with innovators to drive profit and impact. In the carbontech sector, Nicholas is a long-time Senior Advisor to Global Thermostat, a leading Direct Air Capture company. Nicholas led the effort to raise ~$100MM from a consortium of global energy companies and governments to launch the Carbon XPRIZE and founded the Circular Carbon Network with the XPRIZE Foundation to accelerate flow of capital and commercial activity in the sector. He co-founded and serves as a director of the CREO Syndicate, a network of family office investors with nearly a trillion dollars of accumulated wealth focused on opportunities in the clean economy, and chairs CREO ́s Carbon Removal Committee. Nicholas also serves on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Direct Air Capture Advisory Council and the Carbon-to-Value Initiative’s Carbontech Leadership Council. Most recently, Nicholas launched a new initiative in collaboration with leading Direct Air Capture providers and stakeholders called the Direct Air Capture Coalition, focused on mobilizing society to accelerate the deployment of DAC solutions globally. Previously, Mr. Eisenberger was an investor at Churchill Capital, one of the first pure play cleantech venture firms, and founded and led several pioneering companies in the digital clean economy sectors, before serving as Managing Principal of GreenOrder, a management consulting firm focused on sustainability as value creation. Called by Fortune one of the clean economy’s “Go-to-Guys,” Mr. Eisenberger is recognized for groundbreaking with global companies including GE’s multi-billion ¬dollar ecomagination initiative. Nicholas holds honors degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Gabriel Kra | Board Member

Gabriel is Managing Director for Prelude Ventures, overseeing Prelude's investments in alternative energy and cleantech companies. Gabriel currently sits on the Board of Directors of Renewable Funding, PLANT PV, Sense Labs, and Project Frog and is active or a board observer with Prelude’s investments in Suniva, Yerdle, Citrine, and QuantumScape. Prior to founding Prelude, Gabriel was an investment banker with Deutsche Bank in its solar and semiconductor group in San Francisco.  Previously, Gabriel held positions in 3 venture-backed telecommunications and semiconductor startups.  Gabriel holds MBAs from the Haas School of Business and Columbia Business School, a master’s degree in atmospheric chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook, and a BA in Philosophy from Columbia College.

Veery Maxwell | Board Member

Veery Maxwell is a partner at Galvanize Climate Solutions, a mission-driven investment platform that will provide the capital, expertise, and partnerships necessary to scale vital climate technology solutions. Previously, Veery was a founding partner at Ajax Investment Strategies, where she invested in technology companies solving climate change. She currently sits on the boards of Descartes Labs, Streetlight Data, Sunfolding, Trace Genomics, and Voltus. Prior to co-founding Ajax, Veery was a director at Energy Innovation managing a large climate philanthropy portfolio focused on supporting regulatory interventions to drive emissions out of the power, transport, and industrial sectors. Veery earned a J.D. degree with honors from UC Hastings School of the Law, and a B.A. degree magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a double major in finance and international business. Additionally, she serves on the nonprofit boards of Clean Energy for America and CREO Syndicate.

Jason Scott | Co-Chairman

Jason Scott is a Managing Director at Renewable Resources Group, a California-based asset manager focused on sustainable agriculture, water resources, renewables and other natural resources. At RRG, Jason works across several platforms sourcing investment opportunities, raising capital, and managing assets including the Global Partners Fund, RRG Solutions Mexico and the Sustainable Development Acquisition Corporation. He previously co-founded and is on the board of directors of Encourage Capital. Encourage is an asset management and advisory firm formed through the merger of EKO and Wolfensohn Fund Management. Prior to EKO, Jason was a founding Director and investment analyst at Generation Investment Management, co-founded by David Blood and former Vice President Al Gore, Jr. Jason helped build the firm and its first and second products, investing in global listed equities and climate change solutions respectively. From 1999 to 2004, Jason worked with Acumen Fund, Flatiron Future Fund/Foundation, and New Philanthropy Capital. From 1996-1999, Jason was President of an NYC-based software company. Previously, Jason helped found and build national service non-profit Public Allies. Jason helped found and now co-chairs the board of CREO. Jason is also currently on the boards of Clean Energy for America, the Frankfurt Zoological Society, and Public Allies. Jason graduated from Duke University cum laude and has an M.B.A. with honors jointly from Columbia and London Business Schools.

Martin Whittaker | Board Member

Martin Whittaker is a recognized leader within the corporate sustainability and ESG investing industry, with over twenty-five years’ experience at the intersection of global business, finance, philanthropy and social and environmental impact. He is the founding CEO of JUST Capital and is responsible for the overall leadership of the organization. He is also a senior advisor to Edelman, a co-founder and Board member of the CREO family office investment syndicate and the Carbon Disclosure Project U.S.; and a member of the Forbes Finance Council and Forbes Contributor. Martin was recently named to the 2020 NACD Directorship 100 – the annual list of the most influential people in the boardroom and on corporate governance – and to Business Insider’s 2020 List of 100 People Transforming Business. He also sits on the G7 Impact Taskforce’s Working Group on Impact Transparency and Integrity, Harvard Business School’s Impact Weighted Accounts Initiative Advisory Council, and is a Commissioner to the World Business Council on Sustainable Development’s inequality initiative. Previously, Martin was a founding partner and investment committee member at Sonen Capital, an impact investing firm, where he led private equity, real asset and direct investing activities. Martin has also served as Director of MissionPoint Capital Partners, a family office-led private equity firm; Senior Vice President at Swiss Re, where he was part of the Environmental and Commodity Markets team; and Managing Director at Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, Inc., a pioneering sustainable investment advisory and ESG research firm. Martin received his Ph.D. from University of Edinburgh, an MBA from the University of London, an M.Sc. from McGill University and a B.Sc. from the University of St. Andrews.

Christian Zabbal | Co-Chairman

Christian Zabbal is a Managing Partner with Spring Lane Capital. Prior to this, he was Managing Partner of Black Coral Capital, a family office specializing in cleantech and renewables. He also serves as board member and co-founder on CREO, a group of large family offices that share a common interest and mission in investing capital in food, water, and energy companies and technologies. He is part of the investment committee of Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a Canadian Crown corporation focused on investing federal funds to promote the spread of new technologies and businesses in the sustainability space. Prior to that, Christian served as a Partner at ghSMART & Company, Inc., a management consulting firm specialized in talent assessment and development for the private equity industry. Christian was one of the original partners of the firm, and drove much of the firm’s development of programmatic talent improvement programs for large funds and corporate clients. Prior to ghSMART, Christian was a junior partner at McKinsey & Company, a management consulting firm. He was a leader in the media practice and worked in the New York, Amsterdam and Montreal offices. Christian published several thought-leadership articles on broadband deployment and the evolution of new media while at McKinsey, and occasionally still speaks at various events on these topics. Christian started his career as a cancer researcher, developing new types of cancer therapy, and holds an MBA in international finance from McGill University. He lives in Montreal and buys a lot of princess-related items for his 4 girls.

Gaspard Verdier | Advisor EMEA

Gaspard is President of Simandef, a firm he founded in 2009 to advise foundations and families on mission and impact investing. Simandef is a trusted advisor to leading foundations and family offices in France and across Europe, including the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations, Fondation Caritas France, Fondation Daniel & Nina Carasso. Prior to this, Gaspard worked in investment banking for Goldman Sachs in London and Société Générale in Paris, where he focused on Africa. He took part in the creation of a bank in Mozambique in the late 1990s, by regional investors. He lectures on financing social innovation at the Institut Catholique de Paris and at Sciences Po and HEC. Gaspard is a member of the French National Advisory Board to the Global Steering Group on Impact Investing (GSG) led by Sir Ronald Cohen, he serves on the board of SFCO-Maison Gradis, a long-standing family business converting its financial portfolio to impact investing, and is a member of the Comité d’Orientation Stratégique of Fondation Pierre Bellon, the family foundation of the founder of French services group Sodexo, a CAC40 company. Gaspard is a graduate of HEC and alumnus of the LSE.
